Ashwagandha, also known as "Indian ginseng," is a shrub with oval leaves and yellow flowers, bearing red fruits the size of raisins. The word "Ashwagandha" literally means "smell of a horse" - besides having a mild horse-like smell when fresh, Ayurveda believes that it gives a person the "strength of a horse."
